Lowell Elementary School is proud to share an inspirational story about one of their own students, Ella Qualkenbush. Every year Girl Scouts knock on doors, greet you at stores, and hold cookie drive-thrus, determined to sell many delicious boxes of goodness to earn their cookie patch. Ella wanted to sell cookies to help others. Not only did she sell cookies to customers, but she also had others donate cookies to Operation Cookie Drop, which is an organization which sends cookies to soldiers overseas. Ella put on her Brownie smile, pushed up her sleeves, and promised to do what it took to reach her goal of selling 2,000 boxes of cookies so she could help make a positive impact in others' lives. Not only did she want to help soldiers, but she also wanted to donate her prizes, including a laptop computer, for selling many boxes of cookies to Lifebridge, which is an organization founded to help needy children. Through hard work and perseverance, Ella sold 2,002 boxes of cookies. Out of the 2,002 boxes, 204 of them were given to the military. Because of her remarkable efforts, $975.00 of her earnings was also donated to Lifebridge. Ella Qualkenbush is a selfless, dedicated second grader who has warmed many hearts with Girl Scout Cookies.
