Jacklyn Howland, 2011 graduates of Warren Central High School is this year's winner of the Paul Ruster Scholarship. This scholarship is given in honor of former Lowell Elementary School Physical Education Teacher, Paul Ruster, who was an excellent role model and inspiration to students he taught and coached.
Jacklyn received this award based on her excellent career at Warren Central in both academics and extracurricular activities. While at Warren Central, Jacklyn participated in track. She has also been active in several other school activities including National Honor Society, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Student Council. In the fall, Jacklyn will attend the University of Indianapolis, majoring in physical therapy. She is the daughter of Gwynn Howland- Swank and Chris Howland.
Jacklyn received this award at Lowell Elementary Schools' annual Fourth Grade Appreciation Night on Monday, May 23, 2011. In addition to the scholarship, several Paul Ruster Awards for excellent citizenship, scholarship, and leadership were presented to fourth graders that evening.
The Ruster Scholarship Committee is currently accepting donations for the continuation of this scholarship.
