Lowell hosted the first Doughnuts With Dads on Thursday, December 1. It was a huge success with almost 300 participants. Students enjoyed creating decorative frames, playing games, eating doughnuts, and taking a photo with their dad/male role model. We can’t wait for our next Doughnuts With Dads meeting. Stay tuned!
Lowell students and staff celebrated Veterans Day in the month of November by posting pictures of family members who have served or who are currently serving our country in the halls of Lowell. Students also created cards for Veterans in the hospital. The second graders performed a Veterans Day program to honor their dedication, sacrifice, and love for our country. The second grade students were so proud to honor many Veterans who attended the program. Many hearts were full of love!
All students at Lowell participated in a CORE Celebration on October 6. Students used the CORE Bucks they earned during quarter 1 to participate in many fun outdoor activities. Students earned CORE Bucks by showing Civility, Order, Respect, and Excellence from August to October. Students are eager to continue to earn CORE Bucks for the second quarter. Congratulations Lowell students on your hard work!
For students, one of the College and Career Ready standards’ most important new requirements is that correct answers alone will not be enough. Correct answers are very important, but along with them there is a new set of “mathematical practices” that teachers will expect from students. This is part of their preparation for 21st century jobs. More information>>>.
